About me

Professional

I worked in enterprise IT for more than a decade, in legal and healthcare. For attorneys, I make sure they can bill as much as possible. For healthcare, I make sure the clinicians in the field can help and serve their patients in a timely manner.

I want technology to just work. Reliable, like turning on a light switch. You don't even think about whether or not it's going to work, or how long it will take to turn on.

My specialty is automation and endpoint management. That runs through hardware lifecycle management, software lifecycle management, and Windows Autopilot. I hand-wrote over 10k PowerShell scripts and several hundred Batch and VBScript scripts. I wrote custom apps in C#, VB.Net, and WPF for IT teams and end users.

I don't think there's gold in every hill. Even a blind squirrel occasionally finds a nut.

Personal

LLMs are a new area for me. I'm learning how the open source ones work, and I'm running them on my own hardware. I'm enjoying it, including the frustrating parts.

I like technology, and I like retro gaming, from the Sega Master System and NES through current consoles and PCs. I support physical media and right to repair.
